CHIROPRACTIC
Chiropractic is a primary degree health profession that recognizes the body's inherent ability to achieve and maintain a state of equilibrium and understands that internal and external factors have the potential to interfere with the normal function and interaction among all body systems.
It is based on the assumption that the correct structure, alignment and function of the spine are necessary for the proper functioning and balance of the nervous system as a regulator of the physiology and health of the body.
The word Chiropractic is derived from the Greek keir (hand) and praxis (act) and means Hand treatment.

WHEN WAS CHIROPRACTIC CARE BORN?
Chiropractic was born in 1895 in the USA by D.D. Palmer, the first Doctor of Chiropractic of the modern era. One hundred and twenty-five years after its inception, there are more than 70,000 chiropractors in the USA. Chiropractic is currently, in the U.S. and Japan, the most widespread health profession among those that do not rely on the use of drugs or medicines, and is now present in a great many countries around the world.
LIFE IS INTELLIGENT. SO IS OUR BODY.
1895, USA: David Daniel Palmer initiates Chiropractic, what would become one of the world's most popular and valued holistically based health professions. A unique art, science, and philosophy that, on a strong vitalistic basis, views life as an expression of universal forces that govern it, and that manifest in man through Innate Intelligence.
For D.D. Palmer and his son B.J. Palmer, Innate Intelligence enabled life in man, and its free circulation and diffusion, mainly through the nervous system that departs through the various vertebral segments, enabled its self-regulation and healing.
It still is, but today it is even more so. More than 125 years old!
More than 125 years of experience and clinical evidence prove Chiropractic and its origins right.
More than 125 years of international scientific research prove its efficacy, theoretical soundness, safety.
More than 125 years of chiropractic art, science, and philosophy irrefutably explain why this incredible profession is only given “into the hands” of highly qualified professionals: the Chiropractic Doctors.
THE CHIROPRACTIC DOCTOR
The Doctor of Chiropractic works on the muscles and on the joints, mainly of the spine, but also on the end
for the effect these structures have on the walking biomechanics and on the central and peripheral nervous system and thus on the overall effects it may have on health and the wellness Of the person.
THE SPINE
The spine contains and protects the spinal cord (system central nervous system), and allows the passage of spinal nerves to the nervous system peripheral, ensuring muscle function and coordination, pain sensations that warn us of danger, proprioception of the space around, and regulation of many aspects of the internal organs.

THE VERTEBRAL SUBLUXATION
The central assumption of chiropractic practice is known as. vertebral subluxation Or joint dysfunction. A subluxation is a suffering which manifests itself in the joints skeletal and, through complex anatomical, physiological and neurological relationships, affects the nervous system by inducing reduced function, disability or disease.
Typically, clinical evidence of a subluxation includes one or more of the following features: pain and weakness; asymmetry of posture, movement, or alignment; various abnormalities in movement, or in tone, texture, and/or temperature changes of soft tissues. A Doctor of Chiropractic can identify subluxations through specific procedures including physical examination, specific chiropractic evaluations, or targeted noninvasive testing.

ADJUSTMENT
The distinctive element of Chiropractic is the’adjustment corrective subluxation (i.e., vertebral segments, pelvic and extremity joints that are displaced and/or have restricted movement).
By manually correcting the vertebrae to improve physiological relationships, Chiropractic Doctors relieve interference in the nervous system and reduce the resulting symptoms, improving joint mobility and patient well-being.
A chiropractic adjustment requires great palpation skills and manual dexterity properly acquired as a result of long and rigorous training so that a precise and delicate maneuver can be performed in order to effectively achieve the intended goals safely.
